About the Event

AAHAR is India's largest Food and Hospitality trade show, organized by the Government of India, and includes 2 simultaneous shows:

  • Hospitality India: Hotel & Restaurant Equipment and Supplies
  • Food India: Processed Foods, Food Processing and Beverages

In 2025, the show had over 100,000 business visitors and 1,700 exhibitors including international participation from 17 countries including Australia, France, Italy, Peru, United Arab Emirates, United Kingdom, United States, Brazil Japan and Turkey.

Why participate:

India is the world’s most populous country and boasts one of the fastest growing economies in the world. As Indian households continue to reach higher levels of consumer spending, imported agricultural products are becoming more accessible to a larger number of people. The Canadian agrifood exporters wanting to enter India’s market will have numerous opportunities to help meet this growing demand for imported food and agricultural products.

In fiscal year 2024, India imported Can$52.9 billion of agri-food and seafood products from global markets, increasing 12.5% in compound annual growth rate (CAGR) from Can$29.4 billion in 2019. The packaged food market in India attained retail sales of US$104.5 billion in 2024. India was Canada’s 5th largest agri-food and seafood export market globally (Can$1.4 billion) and 3rd largest market within the Indo-Pacific region in 2024.

Since 2010, Agriculture and Agri-Food Canada, in collaboration with the High Commission of Canada, several Canadian Provinces, and key associations, have participated in AAHAR with numerous Canadian companies represented each year. Many Canadian products have been successfully introduced to Indian importers, including edible oils, dried and frozen fruit, fish and aquatic products, processed foods, beverages, cookies, pastas, energy bars etc.

At the show, you will network with India’s food industry leaders, while promoting your products to business visitors from all key food sectors, including importers, wholesalers, distributors, retail chains, hospitality institutions, cash and carry vendors, supermarkets and potential joint venture partners. You will participate in the full trade show program including your own reserved booth space in the Canadian pavilion, setup assistance, information session, retail tour, opening ceremony, networking reception, and other business-to-business opportunities.
