Call For Interest: Good Food Mercantile – San Francisco

Agriculture and Agri-Food Canada (AAFC) and Global Affairs Canada (GAC) are offering Canadian companies attending the Good Food Mercantile San Francisco access to reserving a booth at a reduced rate of US$1,500.

The Good Food Mercantile is an "un trade show" attended by food and beverage buyers in the gourmet, specialty, and retail channels. The San Francisco event will take place on September 15, 2024. A list of previous attendees is available on the Good Food Mercantile website.

Program Benefits

  • Access to the half-day trade show that targets independent and gourmet retailers and distributors;
  • Registered buyer list and contacts provided after the show;
  • Canadian companies receive a reduction in the booth price (6-foot table) for international exhibitors. Please note, the Good Food Guild refers to different pricing on their website but these rates are not available to international exhibitors.
  • Electricity, ice/coolers, and glassware provided at no charge upon request;
  • Canadian companies who participate in a Mercantile are invited back to show for subsequent years at a reduced rate.

How to Participate and Limitations

  • Interested companies must qualify to exhibit at the Good Food Mercantile and agree to program terms. Specific requirements by category can be found here. Note: US origin is not required for Canadian companies.
    1. Submit an application indicating product fit and specific show(s) of interest.
    2. Good Food Guild staff will confirm that qualifications have been met.
    3. AAFC/GAC will confirm program funding at the time of acceptance and offer a 2 week hold on funding availability.
    4. Companies must pay the deposit to Good Food Guild within the hold period to secure a spot at reduced rate. After 2 weeks the funding may be reassigned to other applicants. 
  • A Canadian company is eligible for one (1) reduced fee booth every two (2) calendar years.
  • 2-4 weeks prior to the mercantile, a webinar with participating companies, government team, and show staff will be organized to go over FAQ for exhibitors.
  • Companies, whether attending with support or at full cost, are encouraged to include Good Food Mercantile in their CanExport application.
