On October 30, 2023, at the Metropole Hanoi Hotel, the Canada Gathering 2023 event - part of the "Canada, Bet It’s extremely good!" campaign - organized by the Embassy of Canada to Vietnam and Agriculture and Agri-food Canada, attracted the participation of many food community founders and content creators from across Vietnam. The event was attended and hosted by Mr. Lawrence MacAulay, Canada’s Minister of Agriculture and Agri-Food and the Canadian Ambassador to Vietnam,  Mr. Shawn Steil.

The event provided an opportunity for content creators in Vietnam to exchange experiences and access valuable and comprehensive information about Canadian food. It also helped foster close relationships between the Government of Canada and Vietnamese consumers.

The event was organized in a cozy and warm atmosphere, featuring many engaging activities. One highlight was undoubtedly the cooking workshop led by Chef Hungazit and Ambassador Shawn Steil.

Ambassador Shawn Steil personally presented a  dish consisting of a local red rice cracker cone with salad alongside Chef Hungazit and Ms. Phan Anh, the founder of the Yeu Bep community

Guests had the opportunity to personally grill local red rice crackers, one of the specialties of Hai Duong province, Vietnam, then roll them into cone shapes. Inside the cone was a delicious fresh salad made from Canadian seafood, elegantly presented.

The dishes were presented uniquely, with flavors that carried the distinctive essence of Canada, creating memorable and delightful culinary experiences for the guests.
