Canada's diverse agri-food and seafood sector was on display at SIAL Canada in Montreal from May 15-17. SIAL Canada is the only event of its kind in Canada, bringing together more than 1,000 national and international exhibitors from 44 countries and welcoming over 21,000 visitors from around the world, providing a great platform to showcase the wide range of delicious Canadian agri-food and seafood products.
At the show, Agriculture and Agri-Food Canada hosted the Canada Cook Station featuring 14 cooking demonstrations conducted by two esteemed Chefs, in partnership with Chefs Canada. Renowned ingredients from each province such as crab, wild rice, mustard seeds, barley, beef, potatoes, apples, blueberries and peaches were transformed into delicious sweet and savoury canapés that highlighted Canada's gastronomy and culinary excellence. Over 2,000 show visitors from around the world were able to sample a taste of Canada and learn about the quality and diversity of Canadian food. For those who couldn't attend SIAL Canada this year, you can still explore many Canadian delicacies in our recipes section. All plates served at SIAL Canada are available for you to recreate at home.
