Canadian food and beverages to be featured at four high-end retail stores in downtown Bangkok, Thailand: Siam Paragon, EmQuartier, Emporium, and Emsphere.
In partnership with Agriculture and Agri-Food Canada and Provinces, Canada's Trade Commissioner Service is working with the Mall Group, Thailand's second largest supermarket chain and longtime partner for this promotion. This event will help to highlight Canadian agri-food products already carried by the retailer and will also introduce new products to local consumers. Featured products include Canadian fish and seafood, fresh fruits, snacks and confectionery, beverages and other specialty items. The event will kick-off with opening remarks from a Canadian Embassy official on July 25th, promoting Canadian agriculture and agri-food capabilities and raising Canada's profile in the Thai market. A chef-led cooking demonstration featuring signature Canadian sockeye salmon and oysters and some product sampling will also be made available during the promotional event. As a result of this promotion, it is anticipated that most Canadian products featured will become a staple on selected store shelves except for some select seasonal items (for example, fresh cherries, fresh blueberries, live oysters and lobster).
